Here's your chance to own this antique hardcover copy of William Black's "Macleod Of Dare". This delightful little hardcover is bound in red cloth, and features some glossy prints of quaint old oil paintings - apparently relevant to the story - just inside the front cover. It was printed some time after the turn of the 20th Century, as you can see from the date above. The title of the books is pressed into the cover in the form of a crest, and the spine - pressed with gold leaf - is even more ornate. The cover is in really good condition (for its age), with not too much wear, though it has had some liquid wash the colour out of a couple of spots, notably on the back. The pages are a bit yellowed with age and slightly stained by damp (not spillage), mostly around the edges, but every word is readable still. There are hardly any creases (a few small dog-ears), and all pages are intact. Only two are loose, and one of them is just a catalogue of other current works (including works by Arthur Conan Doyle and Robert Louis Stevenson). This book is a real gem - for collector's of antique books, through to admirers of William Black's works waiting for their chance to get a contemporary copy. This item is going out cheap,
so hurry up and grab it before someone else beats you to it!
