October 2003 - Alpha State & Praetorian

Yet another great night of Metal was our HALLOWEEN gig on Friday 31st of October, featuring ALPHA STATE and PRAETORIAN. We had over 160 people in attendance, which is excellent considering there were 4 other major gigs around (including a CD launch), and many people were saving their bucks for the Strapping Young Lad gig the next night!

ALPHA STATE have been gaining a following around Melbourne for their modern and unique blend of Metal styles, and certainly gained more fans on the night. The guys delivered some great, punchy modern Metal, with the lovely M up front keeping us all entertained with her sense of humour (as well as her singing, of course). This is one energetic and talented band, and we look forward to getting them back in the future.

Our local Melodic Death Metal masters, PRAETORIAN, finished the night with a bang. It was the first Melbourne gig with their new keyboardist, Beth, so we're really glad they picked Breakers as the place to show her off! They of course had a few copies of their album "Threnody" to give away, and it was good to see that some who didn't score a freebie didn't hesitate to buy the album. So these guys definitely gained a few more loyal followers, and we'd love to introduce them to more another time.

So, once again, another successful night! The bands had fun, the crowd got into some great metal - certainly a Halloween to remember! Many thanks for your support, and see you at the next gig!
